Coffee Essential

Considering the city’s well-known love affair with tea, visitors to Taipei might assume that a good coffee shop would be hard to come by. But they couldn’t be more wrong. Taiwan is enjoying a passionate love affair with the coffee bean, and you can now buy a cup of coffee in any convenience store. 

To be honestly, I think Taipei has also become a paradise for coffee lovers as just one drink order will usually grant you access to a cozy spot in a café for the entire day. Like me, I actually spend a lots of time in the café.

考慮到台北人與茶的戀情，到台北的遊客可能會覺得很難找到好的咖啡店。 但其實他們錯了。 台灣人對咖啡豆有著濃厚的感情，就像現在你可以在任何便利店購買一杯新鮮的咖啡。

老實說，我認為台北也已成為咖啡愛好者的天堂，因為通常只需點一杯飲品，就可以讓你整天在咖啡廳度過舒適的時光。 像我一樣，我實際上在咖啡館里呆了很多時間。

Just a normal day that I get up early on Monday morning and finish breakfast. At about 12 o’clock, I head to the “Coffee Essential” to enjoy my afternoon time.

When the first time I come into here, I was deeply attracted by the bright environment through by the window. It ’s a pity that there were so many people at that time, which I don’t have sit. So I was thinking that I definitely will find another day to come here again. However, the coffee essential become one of café that I go to a lot in my free time, which you probably can see me someday in there. lol

星期一的早晨起了個大早，吃完早餐。約莫12點多，前往「民生工寓」享受一個人的時光

「民生公寓」一直是我口袋名單的前幾名。怎麼說呢？因為第一次到這時，就深深地被靠窗明亮的環境所吸引！只可惜，那時人潮眾多，沒有位置。當下心想：一定要找時間再過來。殊不知，我卻常常向民生工寓報到了

As soon as you step into the store, the first thing that catches your eye is their bar counter where they making coffee, also have bar seat area. If you come alone, then you probably don’t mind to sit in here, just like me. lol

一踏入店內，最先印入眼簾的是他們的吧檯座位區。往旁邊看才發現，他們的吧檯座位區是以ㄇ字行，環繞在開放式的廚房

裡頭的空間蠻大的，讓座位跟座位之間有距離。我不太喜歡有些咖啡廳座位太近，會顯得太壅擠。

Inside, there are so many sit that you can choose. I guess you may know how popular are they that I don’t have sit in the first time.

裡面有很多座位可供選擇。 我想你可能知道他們有多受歡迎，在我第一次來時沒有座位可以坐。

Being a Parisian for a while, I have to admit that I like the sit in here so much. You can enjoy the sunshine come through by the window and you don’t have to endure the heat by the sun, for they have air-condition.

作為巴黎人一段時間，我不得不承認我非常喜歡這裡的座位。 你可以享受窗外陽光的照射，也不必擔心陽光帶來的熱度，因為它們都裝有空調。

There is a small living room behind it! The top is also made of a transparent design, allowing natural light to fall down, which is particularly bright. It makes people feel comfortable sitting in their own home. It’s a good place to stay and chat with friends.

後頭還有別有洞天的小客廳！上頭也是做透明的設計，讓自然光撒落下來，特別明亮。讓人有種坐在自己家的舒適感，很適合跟朋友們一起待在這聊聊天，賴上一個下午呢！

The black iron frame bookshelf on the side is also an undeniable existence. There are many different types of books in it, which can make people sit quietly and read it. I guarantee you that you definitely can spend leisurely weekend in here.

側面的黑色鐵框書架也是不可否認的存在。 書架裡有許多不同類型的書，可以使人們安靜地坐著看書。 我可以向你保證，你絕對可以在這裡度過悠閒的周末。

Drink - Fruit tea

Fruit Tea. NT$180

As the beginning that I mentioned it, Taiwan is the place where it love affair with tea, which you can order a cup of fresh fruit tea.
This fruit tea has a very strong fruit aroma, it’s different than I drank before. The most of the fruit teas will be added with sugar, but the sweetness of their fruit tea is the sweetness of the fruit, which it’s perfect.

新鮮水果茶 NT$180

如果是在秋天的季節，好適合點一杯新鮮的水果茶，陪伴我度過午後的悠閒
這水果茶有很濃郁的水果香氣，之前我喝過的水果茶，多半都會再加糖。但他們家的水果茶的甜味是水果發出來的甜，所以並不會太甜！

Croque Madame

Croque Madame NT$200

The seemingly simple and nothing toast, I never thought it would tasted so good, which it completely drew me into its charm. The two slices of toast sandwiched on the outside are crispy, like biscuits, while the ham and cheese sandwiched on the inside to add the smell so good.

I usually don’t love cheese, but this is the first time that I have an idea “In fact, cheese is not bad.” Because the cheese has greatly increased the aroma!

In the end, the sun egg above is perfect. The orange egg yolk overflowing and adding a smoothness of the taste, making people not feel thirsty because of salty ham.

拷克太太 $200

看似簡單又沒什麼的拷克太太，卻完全讓我深陷在他的魅力裡了。外夾的兩片吐司，烤得很酥脆，如同餅乾一般，而內夾火腿、起司，添加了不同的層次感

平常不愛起司的我，第一次讓我有：”其實起司也不錯嘛” 的想法。因為起司大大地增加了香氣！

最後上頭的太陽蛋更是完美，黃澄流溢的蛋黃為口感多了一份滑嫩感，讓人不會因為鹹鹹的火腿而感到口渴

Dessert - Crème brûlée

The point of Crème Caramel is crispy caramel on top and dense pudding. I think their Crème Caramel is nice, but the caramel on it is a bit pity, which is not crispy.

焦糖烤布蕾 NT$130

焦糖烤布蕾的重點不外乎就是上頭酥脆的焦糖、搭綿密細緻的布丁

他們家的布丁我覺得很不錯，不過上頭的焦糖是有點可惜了，有些不夠酥脆，如果湯匙敲下去有碎的感覺，那就更完美了

Frittate

Frittate NT$240

This is my favorite on the Coffee Essential, which is so good. The most of time I always order since I have tried lol. I believe I don’t need to say too much, you can know what am I saying if you’ve tried. 

義大利時叔烘蛋 NT$240

這是我在民生工寓裡鹹食的最愛。 自從第一次吃到之後，我大多數來民生工寓時，都會點他。 我相信我不必多說，如果你嘗試過，你就可以知道我在說什麼。

The overall decoration of the store is in the “retro industrial style”, with exposed red brick walls, gray concrete floors, laboratory cups, uneven walls, retro seats, lamps and so on. They all add some sense of retro industry to the Coffee Essential, but the space ’s comfort and bright glass house add some more modern style, that it’s perfect.

I have to admire that every waiter in Coffee Essentail has a very good attitude. This is one of the reasons why I have been to there so many time.

店內整體裝潢是走「復古工業風格」，裸露的紅色磚牆、灰色的水泥地面、實驗室裡的實驗杯、凹凸不平的牆面、復古的座椅、燈具等等。都為 民生工寓 增添了一些復古工業的味道，然而空間的舒適感、明亮的玻璃屋，讓整體更多加了些現代感，使他跳脫出一般工業風格的咖啡廳，是個很新穎的裝潢！

這邊不得不讚賞一下，民生工寓家的每位店員態度都超好！笑容都掛在臉上，並不會像有些店家因為有些名氣了，店員就都跩跩的 ，這也是我一直再度光臨的原因之一啊！
